LEARN FLAMENCO: HOW TO LEARN FLAMENCO STRUM (RASGUEO)
Learn Flamenco: How to learn flamenco strum? Today I am going to focus on the simple strumming(rasguear) techniques of three and four fingers, because there are many students who ask me which of them to learn.
There are many different techniques of strumming and for my way of seeing flamenco, I think that depending on the effect or the flamenco styles one or another technique must be used, it depends on the tastes, because it is something very personal.
DIFFERENT FLAMENCO SCHOOLS
Of course, according to the Flemish schools, the way of strumming also has variants. For example, in the Jerez school, four fingers (little finger, ring finger, heart and index finger) are used when strumming and the fingers drag the strings more when playing, while in modern school, the strum used It has three fingers (ring, heart and index) and the technique is more percussed.
HOW TO LEARN TO RASGUEAR?
To all my students, I advise to start with the strum of three fingers, because when counting the strokes, with the times, it is much better and more precision and strength will be achieved. When we do well this technique and want to learn the strum of four fingers, we just have to incorporate the little finger, it will be easier and we will sound better this strum if we work in this way.
